W PARTINGTON (BRITISH LATE 19TH/20TH CENTURY) THE DUCHESS OF ARGYLE Pastel, 70 x 52cm (27 1/2 x 20 1/2") Inscribed with title and artist's name on plaque recto Gilbert Telfer Collection, Edinburgh Condition Report: On inspection there are small darkish in tone foxing/damp marks, two located on the face, two on the area of the upper chest, around 8 on the left puff area of the figures dress, a slightly larger one located at the top of this puff and two below this area of the dress in the left hand section, of 2 centimetres and 3 centimetres in diameter, respectively. There is a small loose fragment of what appears like wool located in the top right hand quarter section.

There is a diagonal crease line in the paper, approximately 4 to 5 centimetres in length, near the left edge in the bottom left hand quarter section and some light creasing in the paper in the top left hand corner are. There is some very light general creasing not unusually with this thin paper. .
