Darwin also appears to have a living child sitting on his knee. Drawn by Detmold circa 1920's, after Darwin's death, it was perhaps a working sketch for a painting that appears to have never been completed. Label to verso for Detmold's agent Oliver O'Donnell Frick, for 6 Margaretta Terrace in Chelsea. This drawing is previously unknown and unrecorded.
