Exhibited: Royal Academy, 1925 Faith's hand-written notebook recalls that in the Royal Society of Portrait Painters the picture was exhibited in the 'Paris Salon under the title of 'Avril', because she cried and cried while sitting for it, so my mother felt it wasn't me, but a tearful little girl possibly called Avril (April showers)'. After the picture's return, the frame damaged, Faith writes 'My mother didn't care to show in Paris anymore, she thought fees too expensive'.
