* STEPHEN PEARSON, TIGER pastel on paper, signed and dated '74 44cm x 60cm Mounted, framed and under glass. Note: Stephen Pearson died in March 2003. He was prolific during the late 60's and the 70's. His painting "Wings of Love" was reproduced as a framed open edition print and is reported to have sold more than 4,000.000 copies, making it one of the most successful prints of all time. Many of Pearson's paintings were reproduced as open edition prints and were sold around the UK by major retail chains, such as Woolworth's. Athena Prints distributed Pearson's prints around the world and they appeared in TV series (the Ogden's home, Coronation Street) and in films (Abigail's Party and Mona Lisa). Saddam Hussein commissioned a huge mural of "Wings of Love" as a feature wall of his favourite swimming pool. "Tiger" was also reproduced and distributed as a print.
