UK original Concept Artwork for the UK Quad poster for "Dragonslayer" (1981). This was one of several designs created by Vic Fair for the Quad which was eventually illustrated by Brian Bysouth. Vic Fair created unusually large pieces of concept art, as here. Although this design underwent several changes, the presentation of the dragon’s face bears a close resemblance to that on the printed Quad poster. The Artwork has been rendered with pen, pencil and pastel and is signed by the artist in the bottom right corner.24 1/2" x 34" (62 x 86.5 cm)Condition: ExcellentArtwork applied to dark blue card with an added cut-out painted figure and a decorated card surround also carrying the cut-out hand-painted film title. Albert George Stevens (Staithes Group 1863-1925): The Old Bridge Whitby, watercolour signed 21cm x 27cm Condition Report & Further Details There is a considerable white mark down the centre of the painting (visible in the photo) which appears to be pastel. It is possibly an attempt to cover up some damage such as a candle burn. Due to the lighter colour palette of the painting, the mark is less striking than on the other Stevens in the sale. There is also a dark line along the top of the picture from where it has previously been mounted.
