She was born in November 1962, and grew up in Balsall Common, Warwickshire. She trained at Liverpool polytechnic College of Art, specialising in oil paintings. She graduated with first class honours in Fine Art in 1986. Between 1986 and 1990, Kerstin painted and exhibited from her studio at the Bridewell Studios, Liverpool. Kerstin described her work as ‘based on life, but painted from her imagination’. She admired, and drew inspiration from, many well known artists including: Picasso, Miro, Dali, Gauguin and Kandinsky. She was also a great admirer of Monet, Van Gogh and other impressionists. Kerstin believed that the creative process was of equal importance to the finished painting. Franco Fusari (Italian, b 1945) Nude #A685 Pastel on watercolour paper Signed bottom left Comes with Certificate of Authenticity issued by Saatchi Art 50 x 35cm (19.5" x 14") Gianfranco Fusari (Italian, b 1945) has been living in Venice and Verona (the town of Juliet and Romeo). His father was a sculptor who specialized in marble. On his mother's side of the family are many ancestors who were painters and sculptors. Notable among them was Angelo Pizzi, a particular favorite with Napoleon who, after conquering Venice in 1797, nominated him to the post of Director of Accademia di Belle Arti ((Fine Art Academy) and contracted him to create the Napoleonic Aisle in Piazza San Marco (St. Marks square), in front of San Marco Cathedral in Venice. The human figure is fundamental to his work, which is grounded in the grand classical tradition of superb draughtsmanship. At the same time, his sense of composition, design, delicacy and keen sensitivity are uniquely his own. Many of his drawings feature his three favorite models: Chiara, his loved wife; Olga, from St. Petersburg, Russia; and Daniela, from Venice. The particularity of his models is very important to him and fundamental to his creative process, the model being, in a sense, the co-author of the art.
