Pollyanna Begbie Memories of Sri Lanka Mixed media on paper Each 83.5 x 59cm (32¾ x 23 in.) Framed (2) Pollyanna Begbie: These two studies were created by Pollyanna Begbie, pupil at Mary Hare School, as part of her A level Fine Art studies and in response to a school visit to Sri Lanka. Both pieces were created using a variety of media and techniques including screen-printing, stencil, watercolour, pastel, pencil crayon and pen. Carvings on the Hindu temple in Columbo inspired these studies. Pollyanna wanted to capture the culture, colours and vibrancy of her experience in Sri Lanka. Her work was informed by her research into the work of Howard Hodgkin,Gillian Ayres and Frank Stella.
