William Stott of Oldham R.B.A. (1857-1900), White rhododendrons, signed, pastel, 43.5 x 51.5cm.; 17 x 20.25in. * Went to study in Paris 1879. Worked in the studio of J.L. Gerome and exhibited with success at the Paris Salons of 1881 and 1882. Returned to London and exhibited at the Royal Academy 1882-99; Society of British Artists - Suffolk Street; Grosvenor Gallery; New Gallery and elsewhere.
