ROGER VON GUNTEN Abstracto Firmado al reverso. Pastel sobre cartón. Von Gunten no vacila ante la necesidad de pintar cielos verdes o cuerpos azules y por esto su dibujo, tan importante incluso en sus óleos y caseínas, no es nunca una copia del modelo natural, sino una interpretación. Su obra es extremadamente sutil y elaborada, pero el pintor ha conseguido que en ella todo parezca fácil y natural. Podemos ver la suma de sus cuadros como una especie de sueño de la realidad, un sueño en el que cada cosa ocupa naturalmente su lugar dentro de la totalidad, pero no es devorada nunca por ésta, sino que permanece única e indivisible, absolutamente dueña de sí misma, tal como en verdad existe en el mundo sin que nosotros logremos verla hasta que el artista nos la hace evidente. JORGE ALZAGA Desnudo femenino Firmado. Pastel sobre papel. (N. Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, 1938 - Guadalajara, Jalisco, 2010) En 1954 ingresó a La Esmeralda, ahí conoció a Rodolfo Nieto, Francisco Corzas y Pedro Coronel, entre otros. De sus maestros destacaron Juan Soriano y Santos Balmori. Al concluir sus estudios ya se encontraba exhibiendo en varias galerías, pero su padre murió y debió hacerse cargo del negocio familiar dejando de lado su carrera por unos años. Cuando logró retomarla en 1971, decidió viajar fuera del país y analizar las obras maestras de los museos más importantes.
