§ John Plumb (British, 1927-2008) Reflections at Ockham pastel on handmade paper 72 x 52cm (28 x 20in) Provenance: The Bohun Gallery, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. John Plumb was one of the most notable of the abstract painters to emerge in Britain after the war. Always keen to be an artist, he went to the Byam Shaw School in London at the age of 20, leaving two years later for Luton School of Art and then the Central School in London, where his teachers included Victor Pasmore and William Turnbull. He taught at Luton School of Art 1955-1961, Maidstone College of Art 1961-1966, and Bennington College, Vermont 1968-9. He became Senior Lecturer in Painting at the Central School of Art and Design, London 1969-1982. Dated 1989. Condition is fine.

§ Ken Symonds (British, 1927-2010) View of Tresco from Bryher signed lower left ""Symonds"" oil on mounted board 46 x 61cm (18 x 24in) Ken Symonds painted landscapes and nudes. Born at Swindon in 1927, Symonds studied art in London on a scholarship during the early 1950s. He travelled widely, working as a free-lance illustrator and as a designer of book jackets in London and taking on drawing commissions during his time in Africa before moving to Penzance, his father`s birthplace, in 1960. Symonds taught at the Penzance School of Art and the St Ives School of Painting, as well as taking on private students. He was a member of the Newlyn, St Ives and Penwith Art Societies and was invited to join the Pastel Society in London in 1990. One of Symonds` paintings was selected to be presented to Lady Thatcher in 1987 to join the Number 10 Downing Street art collection. Condition is fine.
Royal Worcester Ovoid Two Handled Cover Vase, with signed polychrome roundel of peaches and raspberries by E.Townsend to the front; the main body in mottled blue, the roundel sitting within a gilt frame over pastel pink and green, with further gilt filigree motifs to the back, neck and base; the two gilt handles curve upwards from the shoulders terminating with scrolls at the base of the neck; the cover being in mottled blue with a gilt finial; 13 inches high including cover; date marks for 1927 plus reg. no.669182 and 2710 (excellent restoration to neck [not rim] and across the base stem, also restoration to the cover)

Royal Worcester Mottled Blue Shallow Footed Bowl, central roundel of apples and blackberries, signed H.Price, with framework in gilt over pastel pink and green, further gilt motifs and a gilt band to the inside rim; 2.75 inches high x 10.5 in diameter; date marks for 1928 and 2769 to underside (fine crack running from rim to top of roundel frame, some slightly lighter patches to blue interior)
