An oil painting on board of a lady kneeling holding a letter in her left hand, in a bird's eye maple frame, 11 x 9.6cm, together with a pastel portrait of a lady, together with a map of SurrEy by Richard Blome, a sepia portrait of a man, the verso inscribed 'By Hy Edridge' and a stipple engraving of 'PATTY'. Early 20th century AD. An original artwork in pastel depicting an Egyptian temple entrance, with seated figures flanking imposing doors; mounted in a reveal under perspex. 1.5 kg, 50 x 40cm including frame (19 1/2 x 15 3/4"). From an important London collection, acquired in the 1990s. The painting was created at the height of the awakened interest in Ancient Egypt following the finding of the tomb of Tutankhamun. Fine condition.
