T B Hardy (British 1842-1897) a late 19th Century charcoal and pastel on paper depicting a coastal scene with ship and castle, signed in ink to the lower left, framed, mounted and glazed, 29cm x 44cm. Thomas Bush Hardy was Sheffield born and a member of the Royal Society of British Artists, who travelled and painted in the Netherlands, France and Italy as well as in the United Kingdom. Best known for his coastal scenes in a variety of media, many of his paintings hang in museums including the V & A and the Maritime Museum.
Lord Methuen (Paul Ayshford) (1886-1974) - 'Corsham' street scene with figures, signed Methuen and inscribed and dated '1943, charcoal and coloured pastel on tinted paper, 15" x 22"; together with a further study depicting ornately carved stonework on a roof in Corsham, also signed Methuen and inscribed, also dated 1932, 15" x 22" (2)
