Langtry, Emilie Charlotte (Lillie) Lillie Langtry to Ellen Terry - Fine Association ALS Letter from Lillie Langtry to Ellen Terry - both renowned actresses who obviously had a close friendship. She addresses Terry as `My dear Nellie` (her nickname) and continues `I was so delighted to hear from you. How you would have laughed if you had seen the crude acting th. they called a success - but my success is that I am engaged at the Haymarket. I am miserable that I can`t get stalls or ? for the Lyceum on Monday. So disappointed. Shall I see you soon anytime? Great actress will you speak to this novice? Yours Lillie`. Wonderful content linking these two actresses - I presume that The Lyceum is where Terry was playing. She was the more famous of the two. Lillie Langtry was also notorious for her liasons, most famously that with King Edward the 7th. 4pp. in Langtry`s typical large and rather untidy script. 8vo. on folded paper with the fold almost completely separated.
