A 19th Century Chinese porcelain bowl decorated with bird upon a rock observing a toad amongst rushes, bearing a Qianlong type mark to base, a Chinese porcelain stem bowl, a 19th Century Chinese porcelain bowl polychrome painted in the round with buildings, figures fishing in a lake, dog playing in a garden, a lady by a punt and figures on a bridge, a 19th Century Chinese porcelain bowl decorated with European figures in an Oriental landscape, and a Chinese porcelain bowl decorated with figures and scholars in a garden setting, painted in greens and browns on a pale yellow ground (5) CONDITION REPORTS Famille jeune bowl has a hairline crack from rim down side 10cm, there are limescale marks to the inside, some chips to bottom edge. Floral decorated bowl has been broken and repaired badly and has various hairline cracks, and chips. White bowl with figural landscape has a large chunk missing and various chips and cracks. Famille verte footed bowl has firing fault to rim. The Imari palette bowl has been broken and repaired badly, various chips to the edges. All items have scratches, dirt, firing faults etc.

Harriet Jane Neville-Rolfe (British, 1850-1928) after Polidoro da Caravaggio (Italian, 1497-1543): Putti & Cupids playing croquet & other games, red chalk studies, H 30 x W 145 cm, labelled verso. Note: Born in England, Neville-Rolfe studied in London & Paris before travelling in 1883 to join family members in Queensland, Australia where she produced many sketches & watercolour studies of local life. She returned to England in 1886 to marry Holcombe Ingleby (1854-1926) of Valentines Mansion, Ilford. A selection of Neville-Rolfe's paintings can be found in the Queensland Art Gallery where they were gifted by her son, Major Clement Ingleby, in 1964.
