A CIRCA 1900 BULBOUS VASE decorated in the Oriental style, incised swirl decoration with mottled brown glaze and lion mask fixed ring handles, the front and rear decorated with turquoise panels and four toed dragons in relief playing amongst the clouds, impressed seal mark to the base, 23 cms high
ATHERSMITH CHARLIE: (1872-1910) English Footballer who spent the majority of his career with Aston Villa, playing a key role in their League Championship winning teams of 1894, 1896, 1897, 1899 & 1900. Athersmith was also a member of the Aston Villa team who won the FA Cup in 1897 and was capped 12 times by England from 1892-1900. Rare ink signature ('Yours sincerely, W C Athersmith, Late Aston Villa F.C.') on an oblong 8vo page removed from an autograph album, also dated Olympia, Liverpool, 23rd February 1907 in his hand. Autographs of Athersmith are rare in any form as a result of his early death at the age of 38. VG
HUBERMAN BRONISLAW: (1882-1947) Polish violinist, founder of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Vintage dark fountain pen ink signature ('Bronislaw Huberman') and date, Amsterdam, 7th December 1939, in his hand on a large oblong 4to page removed from an album. A vintage postcard photograph of Huberman standing in a full length pose playing his violin is neatly corner mounted alongside the signature.
