Sold with a smaller poster with colour illustrations of Ian Botham in action and international test grounds with a listing of Botham’s Test match record and a signed team sheet for the International Wanderers 1975, signatures include Close, Barlow, I. A FOLLOWER OF SIR DAVID WILKIE (1785-1841) "Card players", an interior scene with old woman playing a younger woman at cards, a man helping the younger woman, a chid looking on", oil on panel, unsigned, 30 cm x 25 cm CONDITION REPORTS Overall appearance is dirty but sound, with signs of age, panel appears intact, some signs of wear to the edging where the panel meets the slip. However, under UV light there appear to be several areas of restoration showing up black particularly to the folds of the lady's dress and to the edges of the cupboard on the wall, a larger patch to the right of her feet horizontally, and various small black marks throughout suggesting sympathetic restoration in the past. Frame basically sound though chips and scratches to the ebonising throughout (please see photos). As to age - appears to be a 19th century copy as opposed to 20th century
ENGLISH SCHOOL, 19th century A group of three children playing with a model boat on a pond, watercolour, 4.75" x 6.25"Slight yellow discolouration to the paper overall, but the colours remain reasonably bright. No other damage or restoration is visible. The mount is discoloured and bears brown damp tide marks, particularly to the bottom right hand corner. Please note this condition report has been prepared with the painting under a mount and behind glass.

The edges of the board seem rough. There is also quite a lot of surface wear and dirt.

A journal and Remark book covering the period 1874-1877, a similar journal from October 1877-1878 and another from January 1879-1882.These fascinating journals include the necessary information of navigation and climate that would be important to a Naval officer, as well as personal reflections and reports of the day to day activities. These journals explain more thoroughly than any other source the day to day operation of the late Victorian Navy, details of taking on board coal, deaths of seaman in accidents, exercises with newly developed torpedos, playing croquet, dining ashore and the many other varied activities are all recorded in great detail.Two photograph albums: Containing numerous large format photographs of such subjects as landscape views, group photographs of ships companies for HMS Active, HMS Minotaur, ruins at Alexandria, `Bob` the bear aboard ship, HMS Shah at anchor, the British residency at Bauda Bahru, the Ex-Sultan & Chiefs of Perak and many other similar subjects.All contained in a seaman`s chest.Provenance: The family of Thomas Francis Abbott and thence by descentSee illustration (3 photographs, medal, portrait group shot)

An early 19th century blue and white box, a pair of plates and wood stands, the cover of the box painted with a roundel of a procession, the central figure riding a qilin within hatching and bands of boys playing games, 10.5cm (4in) diameter, the plates each with lotus bloom panels radiating about three central flowers, six character marks of Xuande, 15cm (6in) diameter (7).
