(8) Condition report Report by RB The Jug, spout rivet repaired, base chipped and with star cracks, general scratches. The Slop Bowl, some staining, slight rim chips, largest chips to pedestal foot. A pair of saucers and a teacup, pattern number 189: the teacup with hairline crack and some staining, the two saucers slightly discoloured. Cup and saucer, decorated a castle and a house by a lake, the teacup with a lot of rubbing to the gilt, the saucer in similar condition, and with a few glaze faults. Tea bowl, figures playing a harp, hairline cracks, some fading and discolouration.

Assorted Collectables, comprising a Victorian Mauchline Tartanware card case, printed with the 42d or Sutherland tartan, 10.7cms high; A leather playing card case, by B. Finnigan, Manchester, fitted for two packs, 10.5cms high, and a small collection of various seals and period sealing wax sticks.
An oak bed tray and Smith's suitcase containing black and white print AFTER H ELLETT "Corner of Cricklade & Castle Streets 1820" (circa 1891), together with a tin of wooden printed letters, playing cards and crib board, black painted solitaire board, collection of vintage marbles to include double twist examples, "The New Game of Sky" by GW & Co., set of bone dominoes and a box of draughtsmen CONDITION REPORTS Bed tray with wear and scuffs, and some splits, size approx. 68 cm x 45 cm. Suitcase and contents in well used and worn condition with various damage and losses. Wooden alphabet letter blocks have various scribbles and inscriptions to them. The solitaire board is chipped and scuffed and has some losses to central recess which appears to have been made larger. There is a set of early marbles (central one is large, but does not quite fit in the space on the board). Marbles have some wear and chips, but generally in reasonable condition and most are of a double twist design and appear to be of slightly smaller than 'usual' proportions (approx 1.25cm - 1.5cm across).
A late 19th Century German centrepiece, the base encrusted with flowers and pierced panels, the floral encrusted stem with figures of two gallants (one playing a flute) and two maidens with baskets of flowers, supporting an oval fruit basket painted with sprays of flowers with gilding to the shape pierced borders, blue Dresden mark with cow, 34 cm high approx (damage to two hands - missing pieces included)

A good Bells Insight Cylinder musical box, Swiss circa 1880 with alterations. The 33cm cylinder playing twelve airs, listed on a facsimile tune sheet number 32720 accompanied by six saucer bells, the seat board replaced, contained within a rosewood and simulated rosewood hinged box, the top finely inlaid with musical instruments and flowers and leaves enclosed by line inlays, the front transfer decorated with musical instruments, music, leaves and blooms raised upon bracket feet working order. 32cms high by 66cms by 38.5cms (illustrated).

Pair of Chinese famille rose baluster vases and covers, each painted on the front with a lady playing flute accompanied by her attendant and an official sitting beside her in a garden, and the reverse with two phoenix in flight, Qing dynasty, 44cm high. The first has cracks running through the body and the rim has been chipped and glued back with minimal losses, the second has a firing crack to the base, both covers have been chipped and overpainted
STRAW-WORK WORKBOX. A 19th century straw workbox, the lid with a landscape vignette, showing people dancing & playing. The interior mirror missing. Fitted a tray with boxes & compartments. 22.5x17x13cm. CONDITION REPORTS: The exterior is mostly intact, except for an area of loss to the left of centre above the vignette. Colours faded & top edges bruised, commensurate with age. The lid lacks its mirror & straw work extends only around the sides of the lid. The fitted tray has a little damage on the edge near the lock, but internally, all colours are bright & fresh. The escutcheon & hinges are original,although the bun feet might not be.
