On returning to this country he worked as a drummer with the resident bands at the Gaiety Theatre, Ayr, and The Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow, playing with Harry Lauder, Lex McLean, Stanley Baxter, Moira Anderson, Kenneth McKellar and Andy Stewart amongst others, and also worked with band leader "Geraldo".
