AN EXEMPLARY FRENCH LOUIS XV STYLE COMMODE WITH BRONZE MOUNTS20th CenturyThe shaped black marble with white veins and bold Du Pont edge is supported by a conforming body of mahogany with rosewood inlaid in a basket weave pattern. The commode has an allover scene of cherubs playing among the ormolu vines which create an arch in the center of the commode front. The upper drawers features ormolu dove form pulls and the lower locking drawer features a large two handled ormolu urn supported by a palmetto form on the shaped apron. The corners feature putti among C-scrolls and perched on stumpy trees which terminate in paw form sabots on all four legs.Condition: Frame stable. Tiny scratches to marble.
