She liked to play comedic roles and was regarded as one of the finest comedienne's of her time. She also played tragic roles, once playing the part of Hamlet, and sang the oratorios of her friend Handel. Henry Woodward (1714-1777) was a Shakespearian actor who joined Garrick's company in 1748. He worked alongside Kitty Clive as her comic opposite. He also wrote plays - his pantomime, Queen Mab, had a highly successful run in Drury Lane. Her hat is chipped. His left leg is currently off but present. It appears that the bottom half of the figure has been broken at some point and glued together from the waist down
