The record is in VG condition. There are some surface markings - these are never of a heavier nature and are as stated; on the surface of the record and not heavier markings or scratches. A LARGE JAPANESE IMARI CHARGER 19TH CENTURY Decorated in underglaze blue, iron red and gold with two shaped panels, one containing two deer in an autumnal landscape under maple leaves, the other with boys playing mahjong, the sides with peacocks amongst flowering branches and peonies, the reverse with flowerheads, butterflies and karakusa scrolls, the base marked fuki choshun (wealth and everlasting spring), together with a wood stand, 56.8cm. John Butler Yeats R.H.A. (1839 - 1922)An original Drawing, ink and wash on Card, signed, circa 5 ½ ins x 4 ins, inscribed 'Sosimus [?] calling about him the cherubim and seraphim', further inscribed 'J.B. Yeats (Jack B.). A good pencil Sketch of Robert Gregory (son of Lady Gregory), reading, or perhaps playing cards, signed with his monogram, titled and dated 1908, 3 ¼ ins x 4 ½ ins, mounted.* Robert Gregory was Lady Gregory's only son, and the heir to Coole House, where Jack and Cottie were welcome guests. He joined the British Air Force, and died over Italy early in 1918, apparently shot down in error by an Italian plane. W.B. Yeats wrote several celebrated poems in his memory. Provenance: The Yeats Family Collection.

Musical Rocking Ship Automata, German circa 1890, with painted blue card sea with three mast ship, rocky shoreline with foliage and card painted house and tower with lead soldier to top (detached) the base with hand wind handle playing a music box and creating slight movement to waves, under original glass dome with painted scene to rear, original mechanism probably string pull with stop/start for playing two airs and activating wave movement and soldiers to rotate, 16” (40.5cm) high.
An early and important chamber barrel organ, by Cauderés of Bordeaux, France,Circa 1820-30, stamped to keyframe 324, with satinwood keyframe, 14-notes, three ranks of metal pipes, three stops, the three barrels playing ten airs each including polkas, quadrilles and waltzes as inscribed on tunesheet inside main lid, maker’s label with address, dual sprung bellows, barrel change door to left, air-change lever to right, in cleated and polished walnut cabinet with bow-fronted sliding panel to front, barrels within original pine carriage case – 19” wide, 28.1/2” high, the barrels 15” long, 4.3/4”dia.
A very early small Serinette,French, circa 1790-1800, with 10 notes, single rank of metal pipes, early bellows layout, walnut keyframe, barrel playing eight airs, in walnut panel case with cleated lid bearing period tunesheet with some obscure airs – 11” wide, the barrel 7” long, 2.3/4” dia.
A very fine and rare barrel organ, by C. Chiappa & Sons, of Clerkenwell, London,25-key format, with oak keyframe, playing 10 airs, two ranks of wood pipes, in superb multi-fruitwood and stained coloured fruitwood inlaid veneered cabinet, with front panel having a hunt chase study to centre, triple red silk sound fret panels, full maker’s name and address below, an abundance of intricate floral inlay, on bracket feet with campaign metal clasp corner mounts, with one barrel and the period crank, of very loud volume and good tuning – 22.1/4” wide, 21.1/2” high.
A group of three late 19th century small musical boxes:The first playing 3 airs including a good notated version of the Anvil Chorus from Travatore, in beechwood case and shield inlay; a 4-air movement in ebonised case with flower lid; and a smaller 2-air example by Paillard in crossbanded beech case. No. 7780, playing eight airs, large double-spring motor, speed regulator, tune indictor, tune-change select and twin combs flanking 20-note organ section each with zither attachments, tunesheet, in imposing quartered veneered case with crossbanded domed lid, side handles – 27.1/4” wide, the cylinder 12.3/4”.
