The Clarke Stained Glass Studios[Nagle (Wm.)] "King David and The Creation" A vibrant and colourful three panel stained glass Window, decorated from a base with sea creatures, fish, whale etc., King David playing the harp, swirling birds and butterflies in flight, on a natural background with leafy border, graduating to an arched top. The panel sizes approx. 93cms (36½") base; 103cms (40 ½") centre; 74cms (20") arch top, all approx. 66cms (26") wide, overall height 280cms (110") with recent wooden frame mount.Provenance: Park House, Wexford Town, Co. Wexford. Commissioned by the Pierce Family [Machinery Manufacturers] Wexford, for the portico of their home, Park House, c.1900. Originally one of five panels which were removed by Colonel Roy Smith about 1963, and were placed in a custom made bunker at the house. Park House was subsequently sold to the last remaining member of the Dutch Royal Family [Baroness Van Zuylen van Nyevelt]. The house changed hands on two further occasions. When the house was purchased by the Williams Family it was discovered that two of the panels had been completely destroyed, two of them they were able to reinstate in the inner hallway, and the panel for sale here, is the fifth panel of the series.* The Auctioneers are grateful to Dr. Nicola Gordon-Bowe for her advice on this Lot

DAVID BOWIE - LOW ACETATE - An incredible and never seen before acetate of Bowie's 1977 album, with this pre release acetate called "New Music: Night And Day" - the original title of the LP before a last minute switch. The record contains 3 tracks with different over/under dubs which have also been professionally recorded onto a CD which is also part of the lot. Issued with paper labels with red RCA logos and black text with 'RECORD DIVISION LONDON ENGLAND' printed. The acetate is in Ex condition. There are a couple of quite minor surface marks to the playing surface, but nothing deeper than this at all. The labels are nice and clean with a small 'tipex' mark on track A1. A unique opportunity to own a piece of history.

Tang dynasty (618 – 907AD) A silver gilt lobed Tang cup supported by eight lotus petals opening out from the base. The lobes have alternate scenes of women and hunting, separated by gilt ribbed borders. The lobes depicting women in four different activities including, playing with children, getting dressed and putting on makeup, and playing music. The other panels follow a hunt. The cup is finished with beading on the rim, edge of the foot and the curve of the handle. on the top of the round handle is a disc, beneath which is a curved tail. The disc is in the form of a ruyi cloud in the centre of which is a horned deer. Dimensions: diameter 8cms, height 4.5cms, weight 90 grams Reference. Marjorie Christine Bates (1887 - 1962), Two ladies playing at Whitby Golf Club, signed lower right hand corner, pastel on paper, 29 x 40 cm, gilt frame and another by the same hand, Princess Royal Hotel, Whitby, signed lower right hand corner, pastel on paper, 29 x 40 cm, gilt frame, ARR (2). Bates was born in Kings Newton, near Melbourne, Derbyshire. She was a painter who exhibited at the Royal Academy in London and Paris. Having originally been founded at Goathland in 1892 Whitby Golf Club was relocated on the clifftop between Whitby and Sandsend in 1895. Princess Royal Hotel was built in the 1920s, it later became an old people's home, and has recently been converted into individual apartments.
