A monumental Victorian oak and brass mounted bracket clock on stand, the clock with 7" circular dial with Arabic numerals to silvered domed tablets, the centre embossed with a flaming sun, applied to all sides with brass mounts cast as foliage, putti, acorns and masks, the three train movement playing a pinned cylinder and striking bells on the quarter and half hours, further striking bells, playing a cylinder and chiming on a coil going on the hours, movement no. 1458, with pendulum; the stand in the form of a square tapering vase cabinet, similarly applied with brass mounts and enclosing glass shelves, the moulded base raised on brass ball feet. A 19TH CENTURY IRISH, KILLARNEY FOLDING CHESS AND BACKGAMMON BOARD Inlaid with shamrocks and thistles, together with two cased backgammon sets. (40cm x 38cm) Measurements of Irish board: closed 38 x 20 x 7.7cm, open 38 x 41 x 3.9cm Condition as follows: The whole has some old woodworm damage, some scratches and minor losses throughout. Exterior of case has loss to one 'spine' end, 1cm wide x 3.5cm long. Interior of case has crack alongside one hinge half, extending alongside edge of hinge and either side for 7cm. Also, one flat playing surface of interior has stress crack centrally, coinciding with and running very close to join line. Photos demonstrate report.
