An ealy 20thC oak cased Games Compendium, probably by Jacques, of two-handled rectangular form, the glazed cabinet top with hinged lid revealing a Jacques boxwood and ebony Staunton pattern chess set, King 3½in (9cm) high, above a fitted drawer containing a tooled leather chess board, dominoes, draughts, four whist markers, playing cards, pair of dice and two boxwood shakers, etc, 19in (48.25cm) wide x 9¼in (23.5cm) high.

A Chinese Canton enamel bowl, of pedestal circular form, the outside painted with two four-clawed dragons chasing a flaming pearl amongst clouds on a blue ground 12cm diameter and a Canton enamel circular box and cover, the lid painted with two boys playing in a landscape 8cm diameter, on matching scrolling hardwood stands. EVERTON 1889 Everton matchcard v Notts Rangers, 4/5/1889, definitely an original matchcard and not a replica, professionally repaired along folds where previously it had split, includes fixture list and scores for the season, the first ever Football League season and Everton were a founder member of the Football League. This game was an end of season friendly, Everton playing eight games in 25 days in May having played 12 games in April. Interesting to note that there was a referee and two umpires. This item was not in the David France collection. Excellently restored and now in generally good condition. As described

Tony played for the Pat Jennings Select XI alongside George Best v an International XI. Green long sleeve shirt with white piping and white cuffs. Pat Jennings Testimonial embroidered on left breast and number 8 on reverse. Good
CYRIL KNOWLES Boxed medal awarded to Tony Galvin for playing in the Cyril Knowles Memorial match , 10/11/1991 , the Spurs team of 81/82 played the 90/91 team whilst earlier a Spurs 70-71 team played the Arsenal 70-71 team. Held in memory of ex Tottenham defender Cyril Knowles who had died a couple of months previously.. Small inscribed plaque inside the box with the medal. Good
GALVIN - CAGLIARI Boxed medal inscribed Citta Cagliari and dated on reverse 10-6-1990 presented to Tony Galvin, Irish Republic at the 1990 World Cup. Tony was a non-playing member of the Irish squad for the 1990 World Cup and they played England in Cagliari on June 11th 1990. Complete with box. Good
ALEX FINNEY/BOLTON A collection of various items belonging to Alex Finney who made 483 appearances for Bolton between 1922 and 1935 playing in the 1923 and 1929 FA Cup Finals unfortunately missing the 1926 Final through injury. The lot includes a Union Jack flag believed to have been brought home from Wembley by Finney following the 1923 Final, A copy of the Topical Times dated 28th April 1923, which was a Special FA Cup Final Issue (Cover distressed) plus a collection of photos (some Press Photos) of Finney with team mates prior to the 1923 FA Cup Final, some showing the massive crowds at Wembley Stadium and some family photos. Also include is a signed photo of Band Leader Jack Hylton who presented it with a personal note to Finney following the 1929 Final. Comes with a copy of the Bolton Evening News 18th June 1977 which contains an article on Finney. Some faults as described but mostly fair to generally good
BRENTFORD A collection of Brentford ephemera from the 1920's to the 2000's to include 2 team postcards from seasons 1926/27 and 1929/30 seasons (some faults), a postcard from 1923 with 3 dogs on the front described as "Three Half Backs" referring to Brentford, an undated photo of the Brentford team playing cricket possibly from the 1930's or 1940's, a few cigarette cards relating to Brentford from the Pre War period. Also includes a scrapbook from 1947/48 and further Scrapbooks from the 1970's plus a large amount of loose press cuttings and newspapers through to the 2000's. Fair to generally good
