A mid Victorian parcel gilt electrotype rectangular card case by Elkington & Co., stamped 549 Elkington & Co. X, circa 1855, designed by George Stanton, an oval reserve of Cupid and Psyche surrounded by scroll foliage with bearded masks, horn playing caryatids and pairs of figures back and front, 9.7cm (3 7/8in) long George C. Stanton worked for Elkington, Mason & Co, Birmingham. The firm specialised in electroplate and electrotypes and Stanton was employed as assistant to their chief designer. An example of the card case was shown at the Exposition Universelle of 1855 in Paris and at the International Exhibition, London, in 1862.

A George III mahogany triple-train musical automata table clock with pull-repeatBy Thomas Hunter, Junior, London, circa 1760The case with well-figured veneers, surmounted by a bell top, above a panel door with arched glazed panel, the sides each with a brass carrying handle above shaped rectangular panel, with glazed back door, on stepped plinth with brass bracket feet, the arched 7in. dial, finely painted with figures in arcadian landscapes, the arch painted with a harbour, a hill-top castle in the background, and with an automata of ships passing through, on the hour, above the silvered chapter ring, signed about the VI Thos Hunter Junr LONDON, with Roman chapters and Arabic five-minute numerals, pierced blued steel hands, and two subsidiaries at the base for Chime/Not Chime and A Dance/Happy Clown, the three train fusée movement with all-over foliate-engraved backplate, five knopped pillars, verge escapement and strike on a bell, with the music set off hourly, or on demand, and playing two tunes on a carillion of eight bells50cm. high. Illustrated Thomas Hunter Junior is recorded apprenticed 1734, gaining his freedom of the Clockmakers' Company in 1742, he worked from New Broad Street Buildings, was appointed Warden in 1762, then served as Master in 1765; he died in 1785.
