A 19th century walnut cased table top symphonium, decorated with birds in foliage and four cherubs playing musical instruments to the interior, bearing the serial number 64414 on the mechanism. Supplied with 23 discs each 30cms dia. Case 49.5 x 37.5cm, printed on the disks ''Phoenix 8669'' Schutz marke.
Frank Moss Arsenal Goalkeeper Certificate 1934/35: Former property of the famous Arsenal goalkeeper. This framed certificate is from Lyons Tea who issued an award for a famous moment in every week. The certificate reads "A Tribute to Frank Moss whose outstanding achievement in scoring a grand goal towards the 2-0 defeat of Everton after dislocating his shoulder as Arsenal FC Goalkeeper temporarily playing outside left. Takes the cake for the week Mar 11-17 1935 presented in admiration by the editor of the Lyons Sport Sheet. Larger than A4 paper has j+L Ltd embossed stamp and is signed by W Buchanon-Taylor who we believe went on to write plays. Rare item from a famous moment in Arsenals history.
Two framed Wedgwood Jasperware plaques the first depicting the `Dancing Hours`, after John Flaxman, modelled as a blue Jasper rectangular plaque with dancing figures, 6cm wide x 17cm long (excluding frame). The second depicting young children playing `Blind Man`s Buff`, modelled as a green Jasper plaque, 9cm wide x 21.5cm long (excluding frame), impressed Wedgwood to reverse (2)
A late 19th century Swiss musical box, with inlaid case and with 6 inch comb playing eight airs. Case width 17 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The music box itself is in generally good order. There are some small sections of boxwood stringing missing on the right hand side of the top which may be evident from our image. This equates to approximately 4 inches in total. The top is of good colour and the marquetry centre is in good order. The top is not warped, the front of the box has a section of stringing missing on the right and side and some scratches to the left. The mechanism winds and does appear to play as it should. There do not appear to be any teeth or teeth tips missing. The box appears to be playing as it should, it stops and starts and the repeat and change mechanism seems to operate as it should.
A Victorian walnut turnover top games and combined worktable, fitted with a single drawer beneath the folding chess top, with scroll and pierced supports, low stretcher and downswept scroll legs. Width 22 ins. CONDITION REPORT: Generally very good condition. The top is flat and well figured. The hinges work as they should and the games playing surface is in generally good condition with only very minor surface scratches. The end supports are in good condition with no damage as are the scroll feet and castors. The centre stretchers is in good condition also. The table will originally have had a cloth bag which is not present.
