PLEASE PLEASE ME MONO 1ST - A very well presented 1st UK pressing of the widely heralded 1st LP from The Beatles. Black/gold Parlophone label (PMC 1202). This copy has Dick James credits for tracks A1,2,6,7, B4,6. Matrix/stampers: XEX 421-1N 1 G R and 422-1N 1 G D (extremely early). The record is in Ex condition. There are couple of quite minor, light and wispy surface marks to the playing surface, but nothing deeper to note at all. The original glossy nature of the record is remarkable considering this album is now 53 years old. The (right alligned Angus McBean) flipback sleeve is in VG+ condition. There's not much wrong here at all apart from some light peeling on the reverse (bottom right) flipback tab. A super copy.
PLEASE PLEASE ME UK STEREO 3RD - An incredible copy of (arguably) the hardest to find 3rd Stereo pressing of Please Please Me (PCS 3042). This copy was issued with the small '33 1/3' on the labels to the right of the matrix code indicators. MATRIX/STAMPERS: YEX 94-11 M and 94-2 1 G. The record is in astounding Ex+/archive condition. To the playing surface there are perhaps one or two of the lightest, tiniest wispy marks. The labels are exceptionally clean indicating this record has been played sparingly. The (right alligned Angus McBean) flipback sleeve is in extremely clean Ex condition. The often damaged flipback tabs are clean with no rips/tears or otherwise- the only thing barring this from an even higher grading is some minor edgewear that surely must be expected from a record of this age? A brilliant investment copy.
