1 Large 20th century hand carved scene under glass button. The buttons like this one are reminiscent of the 18th century hand carved and cut out of natural material buttons from Dieppe France. The Motiwala Brothers of India copied the technique in the 1950's and created examples like this one using various colored foil backgrounds set under glass and mounted in silver. This nice example depicts a man playing a horn while sitting under a detailed tree. Nice. These types of buttons are some of the scarcer type buttons the Motiwala studios produced.
