A French brown variegated marble and bronzed spelter figural mantle clock, entitled "Mignon" after F. Moreau, the off white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and signed A. Rateau, St. Brieuc, the eight day movement signed Societe Clusienne, S.C.A.P.H., Cluses and numbered 2954 and 56 m/m, striking on a bell, the spelter case depicting a lady playing a lute, pendulum, bell, height 40 cm. Hippolyte François Moreau, (1832-1927) was part of the Moreau family of sculptures. Mignon is an opera in three acts by Ambroise Thomas and premiered in November 1866.
