A Royal Worcester Porcelain "Richmond Castle" Topographical Cabinet Plate, Raymond Rushden, circa 1935], painted with an angler on the River Swale beneath the castle, signed, brown printed crown and wheel mark and title, 27.6cm diameter *Raymond Rushden, 1886-1956, was a fine landscape painter, specialising in pictures of old fashioned manor house gardens, cottages and castle subjects. A prize winner at the National School of Arts in his earlier years, and was fond of fishing in his spare time and was an accomplished pianist, playing at the Fountain Inn (opposite the Worcester factory) in the evenings for beer money. Goal nets at each end, with ball. Base size 21” x 12”, GC, some paint scratches and age wear, 3 players missing from uprights; together with a small quantity of Herald plastic figures, including 9 cowboys and Indians in original coloured picture front 2 piece box of 1954, early Herald trade mark to base of figures, 8 further mounted cowboy and Indian figures and 2 Swoppet cowboys on foot; together with 19 British infantry in various combat poses. A scarce tinplate clockwork powered ‘mechanical Happy the Violinist” by TPS Japan, approx 9” tall wearing long 1950s style check style trousers, bright red and white faced felt jacket, tinplate clowns head, tinplate hands, violin bow and large feet, with playing and rocking action. Boxed, minor wear, figure VGC in GWO minor wear. (See lot 229 for illustration).
