1990 Martin Johnson playing for New Zealand U.21 International Rugby Team (3) : A surprise to some, a lovely official team photo and two programmes from England & Lions skipper-to-be Johnson's NZ rugby-education stay Down Under with King Country. As the 14" x 11" mounted picture (damp-affected to the right edge) shows, he played for the NZ Under-21 team touring Australia, and there is also a programme pair, against Argentina and North Harbour, with, between them, an article on him, his team line up and no fewer than four pictures. Different! O/wise G. (3)
1946 Wellington (NZ) v the Kiwis (NZEF) Rugby Programme: Rare issue for the 18-11 defeat of the famous and much-admired Kiwis on the last match of their internal tour, 3rd August, following a year of playing in the UK and Europe at the end of the European war. Apparently the 'hosts' were determined to keep it a tight, forward battle against the tired Servicemen and stifle their famed running style - and so they did, just. 8 pp paper issue with detailed stats and pics, of real interest. A little grubby with reinforced punch holes and inked underlining of selected players, but very acceptable. (FG)

CARL PERKINS - WHOLE LOTTA SHAKIN' LP (US PROMO CL-1234). Solid example of the scorchingly hard to find original US promo copy (CL-1234) of the 2nd studio release from the undisputed King Of Rockabilly. The record is in visual G condition with many surface markings to both playing sides. Though many in number these do not extend deeper which is perhaps why a sample of playback of each track caused no major disturbance (no skips, jumps or pops) and could certainly be described as VG and leaning towards VG+! Clean white/red '6 eye' labels. The heavy card sleeve is in G+ condition. Intact, there is some discolouration on the reverse and noted wear around the edges perhaps suggesting that it has been repaired at some stage. A more than enjoyable copy!
