A Pair of Chinese Export Carved and Pierced Ivory Panel Ends, circa 1800-1820, of rectangular form, the upper part of the panels centred by a relief carved circular frame roundel depicting two figures playing musical instruments on a verandah in a lakeland landscape, within a surround of flowers and scrolls and two further small oval vignettes, and pierced (possibly for suspension?), within a flat carved narrow foliate border, each 31cm by 11cm (each example has four small cuts up each side, perhaps to receive a narrow shelf?)

CHARLES ROSSITER (B.1827) THE VILLAGE MINSTRELS Signed and dated 1858, oil on canvas 35.5cm x 25.5cm (14in x 10in) The artist is known for his genre subjects and scenes of social realism. This depiction of children seeking to raise money by playing in the streets is also painted in almost translucent colours, no doubt influenced by the work of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood formed some ten years earlier.

A George IV mahogany card table, the 'D' shape hinged and swivel top with a baize lined playing surface above a plain frieze with an applied carved palmette, on a turned column stem to a quatreform base with applied rondels, disc feet to brass caps and castors, 29.5in (75cm) h, 34.25in (86.8cm) w, 17.5in (43.6cm) d. Top slightly bowed.

Central top panel with cracks, old repairs to frieze.
