A BURLWOOD CARVING OF LIU HAI, LATE MING TO EARLY QINGChina, 17th-18th century. Carved in a standing position, using the natural shape of the gnarled wood to depict the robe. Supporting a mythical three-legged toad on his right shoulder.Condition: Fine golden-brown patina. Some wear, minor losses, intrinsic age cracks. Scattered tiny wormholes. A FINE JADEITE CENSER AND COVER WITH DRAGONSChina, 20th century. The censer and cover show impressive relief carving, the thick walls with a dragon motif on one side and a four-character inscription on the other reading 'Er Long Xi Zhu' (Two dragons playing with the pearl), flanked by reticulated dragon handles. The accentuated foot featuring three linghzi masks with suspended ring handles and showing a stylized Ruyi bordure. The domed cover features a repetition of the dragon and linghzi symbol motif and six additional suspended rings, crowned by a large, winding dragon. On an openwork boxwood pedestal.Condition: Very good condition with only minimal signs of age-related wear; the pedestal likewise. Provenance: Austrian Private collection. A POLYCHROME STUCCO FRESCO FRAGMENT, YUAN TO MING DYNASTYChina, 1279-1644. The rectangular panel painted with two celestial maidens, one playing the pipa and the other the cymbals, wearing elaborate headdresses and long flowing robes, richly adorned in jewelry, the arm and flute of a third musician can be seen towards the left edge, all painted in polychrome pigments highlighting the gilded ornamentation with gesso relief.Provenance: From an old Canadian private estate. A noted collector, acquired from the above. Condition: Laid down on a wooden base, otherwise in original and unrestored condition. Losses, wear, weathering, cracks and erosion.Dimensions: Size 113.5 x 52 cmThe style of painting in this fresco recalls that of the mid-eighth century temple painting style. Largely ignored by the court and literati circles, this 'flowing water and scudding clouds' (xingyun liushui) manner, reminiscent of the Tang dynasty painter Wu Daozi, was ideal for painting religious figures. A WWI open faced pocket watch, the black dial with subsidiary seconds dial and Arabic numerals, the case back engraved with a military Crow's Foot and '88222C RA'; together with a similar stop watch, the case back engraved 'PATT 3 21703'; another open faced pocket watch and a set of Linnet playing cards with a Machine Gun Corps insignia.Condition ReportThe gold plated watch is running, the dial is cracked in several places and there is a paint repair at 9 o'clock. The black faced watch is not running, the hands do set, the case has scratches to the surface, the illuminous paint is missing to the hands and on the '9' figure. The stop watch is running and sets correctly, there are scratches to the case and the back cover is loose and doesn't close firmly.

18th century German/Austrian ivory and wood group figure, modelled as a tavern scene, gent proposing to a barmaid with musician playing mandolin, on a rectangular base, 27cm high, 28cm long. CONDITION REPORT: The neck of the mandolin is missing, there is cracking to the ewer, the barmaids right arm is loose, there is a mark to the base where the wine bottle on its side has been rubbing, and the neck of the bottle is broken.
