Lot 146

SLADE - 'C'MON FEEL THE NOISE/HOLD TIGHT' (APPLE 7" ACETATE) - Another astoundingly hard to find Apple 'Custom Recording' with the 7" acetate of the classic anthem. Flip side with 'Hold Tight' which was released by The N'Betweens, and we all know what happened next! C'mon Feel The Noise side is in neat Ex condition with a little fading to the playing surface - there are no notable markings. The 'B' side is in VG+ condition with a couple of quite light markings. Clean labels with slight wear on the Hold Tight side. Let's get wild wild wild!

Lot 148

MORTIMER - DEDICATED MUSIC MAN - (APPLE 7" ACETATE) - If you can believe your luck we have another 7" Apple acetate recording of this monster, this time with a hand written title. Lot 151

INCREDIBLE STRING BAND - THE LETTER - APPLE 7" ACETATE - Lovely track here produced by the all knowing Joe Boyd! Issued as a single sided release with the 'Custom Recording' label. The playing surface is in solid VG condition with some fading to the surface and a few light surface markings; nothing of a heavier nature whatsoever. With 'The Letter I.S.B (STEREO)' hand written on the label. Very interestingly, this is a different version to that was released on the 1970 LP 'I Looked Up' - most noted is the presence of a harpsichord playing an intricate little melody at the start of the track which reappears when this 'diatonic scale' comes back in at the end of the verses. The tempo is also distinctly faster. There are other differences with the appearance of an electric guitar that was seemingly replaced with whistling on the 'final' cut.

Lot 152

ALVIN STARDUST - YOU YOU YOU - APPLE 7" ACETATE - Coo-ca-choo how about this 7" single sided 'Custom Recording' label acetate? The playing surface is in tidy VG+ condition with a few rather light surface markings; the aluminium lacquer has held up very well indeed. There is some 'spotting' to the label, but all the text is fully legible.

Lot 154

Printed label with "Believe Me" crossed out in pen.

The Apple custom labels are 'unglued' from the labels (it may even have been that they were never stuck on).

Lot 164

DORIS TROY - ROCK OF AGES - APPLE 7" ACETATE - A 7" single sided acetate issued on the Apple 'Custom Recording' label. This track was issued on Badfinger's 1970 LP Magic Christian Music. The playing surface is in VG+ condition with a few light surface markings - this is not a major feature and there is only minimal wear to the aluminium lacquer on the outer rim (not the playing area). The labels have some fading but are still fully legible.

Lot 169

IVEYS - GIVE IT A TRY - APPLE 7" ACETATE - Unlikely to see again single sided 7" Apple 'Custom Recording' -acetate from Iveys (pre-Badfinger). This is a different version to the final release and almost sounds like it has been recorded live - there is some chatter between the band before the intro... This track was issued on Badfinger's 1970 LP Magic Christian Music. The playing surface is in neat Ex condition with just a couple of light scuff marks; these are only very light and look like they could be removed as they could just be some residue. Clean label with only minor discolouration.

Lot 170

The playing surface is in clean Ex condition with just a couple of rather light and minor surface marks. With a clean and well presented label. A beautiful tune, this recording features Pete Ham effectively sounding live; there are slight changes in tempo that would be changed in the final version.

Lot 174

BADFINGER - BELIEVE ME - TRIDENT STUDIOS 7" ACETATE - Continuing with this remarkable run of acetates is this Trident Studios 7" recording of Believe Me, officially released on the 1970 LP No Dice. The label is in great clean condition. With 200AA stamped on the non playing side.

Lot 177

BADFINGER - NO MATTER WHAT - APPLE 7" ACETATE - No matter what, don't miss out on this 7" single sided Apple 'Custom Recording' acetate! The playing surface is in well presented Ex condition with only a couple of extremely minor, light and faint surface marks and a little 'residue' to the lacquer - this is not a major feature and playback should not be affected in any major way. Lovely clean printed label. With a message from the band? on the paper sleeve which reads: "If we don't see ya on the way out Tara!"

YOKO ONO - RUN, RUN, RUN - APPLE 7" ACETATE - Terrific Yoko rarity with this single sided 7" Apple 'Custom Recording' acetate. The playing surface is in G+ condition. Aside from this, there is some wear to the lacquer and the printed label is detached from the record.

Lot 218

PLASTIC ONO BAND - OPEN YOUR BOX - 7" APPLE ACETATE - Incredibly rare single sided 7" Apple 'Custom Recording' acetate. The playing surface is in VG+ condition with a few light surface markings - these are never of a heavier nature with no scratches to note. The surface is a little faded (giving the look of 'condensation', but this isn't overly intrusive). The printed label is nice and clean with only very light wear.

Lot 232

WINGS - BAND ON THE RUN WHITE LABEL TEST PRESSING - A 7" white label test press of Wings' Band on The Run. Handwritten labels detail date (21/6/74), cat number (R5997) and publishing info, whilst matrix number reads 7YCE 21746 DJ-1. Condition is exemplary at a solid Ex on both playing sides. Lot 258

GEORGE HARRISON - APPLE SCRUFFS - 7" APPLE ACETATE - My sweet lord, how about this terrific single sided 7" acetate from George! Released with the 'Custom Recording' London address printed label. The playing surface is in VG condition with some surface markings - these are only light in nature with no scratches to note. The lacquer has held up very well indeed. The label is well presented with some minor wear.

Lot 314

THE BEATLES - SOMETHING - UK 7" DEMO (PARLOPHONE) - Almost impossible to find original green/white Parlophone demo of the 1969 cut c/w Come Together (the stock release would be issued on the newly formed Apple Records). The record is in VG condition with some surface marks noted on both sides - these rarely extend any heavier than this; there is one very light but just feelable scratch towards the start of Come Together - this does not cause any skips or jumps with both sides playing through very well. Matrix/stampers: 7YCE 21369-1U 3 GL KT & 21370-1U 4 DR KT. The four pronged centre is fully intact.

Lot 316

THE BEATLES - LOVE ME DO - UK 7" DEMO - The phrase 'holy grail' is brandished around a lot these days, but surely this is up there for any Beatles fan - the original UK 7" demo of the very first single (Parlophone red/white labels 54-R 4949). The playing surface on the A side is in VG condition. There are surface marks to the surface with a light scratch towards the start. On playback there are a couple of light pops with no skips or jumps. The B side P.S I Love You is in VG condition. Again, there are surface markings to the playing surface - these are mainly as stated on the surface though there is a small scratch at the end of the track. Again, playback is uninterrupted with so skips or jumps. Love Me Do is credited as 'Lennon-McCartney'. The four pronged centre is fully intact - there is a name 'Tracy' (neatly) written on both sides on the centre. The labels are nice and clean with only minor wear. With the ZT tax code on the A side. Matrix/stampers: 7XCE 17144-1N ZT JR & 7XCE 17145-1N ZT JR. Housed with original promo 'Urgent Special Rush Copy' Parlophone company sleeve, well presented in VG+ condition with no rips or tears.
