Francesco Bartolozzi, (Italian, 1727-1815) after Guercino A man playing the lute whilst a singer sings engraving; together with an engraving by Robert Vaughan (English, 1600-1660), "Thus free from all Marines, I rest in Neptune's arms", dated 1651, 23 x 13cm; and an engraving of a Martyr with a Lyre by W Baur (3) 25 x 30cm (10 x 12in) Provenance: From the collection of the late Christopher Hogwood CBE. The Bartolozzi is unframed. The Vaughan is trimmed and a little browned. The Baur is trimmed, foxed and discoloured. All are unframed.

Two Ledgers of Cambridge University Cricket Club match scores, recording matches from 30th May, 1928 to 23rd June, 1945, and 30th April, 1946 to 9th May, 1952, written in a flowing neat hand in ink, very probably compiled by Percy Piggott, official scorer for the CUCC, and author of "Fenner's Reminiscences of Cambridge University Cricket". The matches include first class county series and Oxford University and many others. Famous names include D.S.Shepherd and Peter May, (playing in the final recorded fixture against Essex), and the record breaking partnership of Hubert Doggart and John Dewes who in 1949 set up a new English second wicket record of 429 unbroken against Essex. 43 x 30cm (17 x 12in) Provenance: Obtained by the present vendor following the acquisition of the Piggott & Co printing business in Cambridge.
