* Ned Kelly. An archive of original artwork relating to the 1970 film Ned Kelly starring Mick Jagger, by George S. Crossley (1919-1973), 1969, 99 pencil and pen & ink drawings and sketches, one or two with watercolour, on thick textured or coloured paper mounted on card, mostly signed and captioned with subject, place, and date, comprising: 54 head studies of the cast (including extras and stuntmen) and film crew, 3 additionally signed by cast member (Janne Wolmsley, Bob Bruning, and Ted Bunn); 10 figure studies, including several of musicians and 2 of Mick Jagger as Ned Kelly, both showing him in court; and 35 drawings of scenes with figures (some with Mick Jagger), exterior and interior locations and buildings, sets, props, horses, steam locomotives, etc., most captioned, e.g. 'Kelly escaping from the cutting', 'Bedervale Homestead', 'Kelly's collapse when wounded', 'Frank Thrine as Judge Barry', 'Ken Shorter playing the battered piano' - Glenrowan Pub after the fight', 'Rehearsals for the Ambush of Kelly in the Glenrowan Railway cutting', 'Spectators at fight scene', a few with minor marks, but mostly in good condition, largest 37 x 50 cm (14.5 x 19.75 ins), smallest 24 x 31 cm (9.5 x 12 ins), contained in a large portfolio (Qty: 99)NOTESAustralian artist George S. Crossley was born in Perth, Western Australia. He studied at the Melbourne National Gallery School under William Dargie, going on to become a drawing master there himself. He worked as a television artist for the BBC in London, and held exhibitions in Europe, India and the Middle East, as well as in all the major Australian cities. He was awarded the Tumut Prize in 1959 and the Redcliffe Prize in 1964, and his work is represented in a number of Australian institutions. The 1970 film Ned Kelly was directed by Tony Richardson and starred Mick Jagger in the title role, with Mark McManus playing the part of Kelly's friend Joe Byrne. It was a British production, but filmed entirely in Australia, shot mostly around Braidwood in New South Wales, with a largely Australian supporting cast. It was the seventh Australian feature film to tell the story of the infamous 19th-century bushranger Ned Kelly and the first to be shot in colour.

A Japanese Meiji lacquer writing box, the lid decorated with five puppies playing in a garden, underside of the lid with bird perched beside a prunus tree, interior with removable tray decorated with bamboo, 23.5. x 21cm, height 4.75cmCONDITION: Black lacquering to the lid patchy with light surface scratching, bottom edge of lid has been repainted black, looks like it has been broken at some point and overpainted but damage still showing at corners, in fact all four corners of the lid damaged, inside of lid with bird and plant decoration good, within the box the removable tray to the right decorated with bamboo with very small marks to the rim, inkstone panel has clearly been used for some time and shows rubbing to the front edge and has a signature to the underside of the inkstone, small water dropper is gilt bronze modelled a seated goose and a little rubbed to the gilding, inside rim of main box a little worn at the corners, the top edge again shows signs of damage and over painting with cracks running at the corners.

Taxidermy: A Large Cased Anthropomorphic Diorama of Card Playing Red Squirrels, circa 1870-1900, probably Austro-German, six full mount adult red squirrels mounted within a furnished interior, four gathered around a pedestal dining table playing cards, the table centred with a decanter and four glasses, cigars and cribbage board, two further squirrels to the right, one relaxing upon a chaise longue with cigar in hand, the other standing in conversation with cigar in hand, the interior lavishly furnished upon a woven carpet flooring, enclosed within a period single-glass display case with figural pediment, centrally mounted with a carved Stag and Lion masks to each end, 104cm by 49cm by 70.5cm including pediment By repute this diorama came into the current family's possession in lieu of a previous debt owed to their grandfather, it has remained in the same family since the early part of the 20th century, hence never before available on the open auction market before.
James Bond - Casino Royale (2006) - original production used ' Casino Royale ' playing card. The card being a two of hearts, and mounted on a Casino Royale poster display which reads to the base ' Original Cartamundi Production Used Playing Card '. Total size 11x14". Along with an autographed 8x10" colour photograph of Naomie Harris (Skyfall) signed in black ink largely across a light portion of the image, and an impressive signed Die Another Day poster photograph signed by Judi Dench - 8x12". Interesting collection of James Bond memorabilia.
The Rolling Stones - a rare piece of Rolling Stones memorabilia - an original NME New Musical Express ' Poll Winners All Stars Concert ' programme from Sunday May 12th 1968 at the Empire Pool, Wembley, London. The Stones were a late-addition to the bill, playing just two songs, and as such don't officially feature in the programme (but are mentioned on the back page). This live concert was to be the last for Brian Jones, who departed the band shortly after and passed away just over a year later. It was also the live debut of ' Jumpin' Jack Flash '. The programme is also supplied with its original ticket. A rare pair of Rolling Stones concert items.
The Bealtes - UK Emidisc 7" - Get Back - an incredibly rare original single-sided acetate recording of ' Get Back '. Contains an alternative mix of the song, with studio chatter between Paul & John towards the end. Handwritten details to front label ' 2' 03 - Mono - Get Back - 23/1/69 - Beatles '. Some light scratches noted ( a more noticeable scratch towards the left corner), and general scuffing to edges - not affecting the playing. Supplied within its original paper sleeve. Rare piece of Beatles memorabilia.
