A Victorian coromandel games compendium, the interior with two lift-out trays, fitted with boxwood and ebony draft pieces, a cribbage board, bone dominoes, playing cards, counters, a shaker, painted metal horse and riders, a small gavel, dice, the twin hinged front with a boxwood and ebony chess set and with leather game boards inset into the underside of the lid, 18.1cm high, 33.8cm wide, 22.5cm deep.

CHET BAKER - ART PEPPER SEXTED - PLAYBOYS - A fantastic 1st US pressing of this fabulous 1957 LP. As Lars Werner says: ""The consistency of playing and the never-failing inspiration on these sides is a joy to hear. Issued by World Pacific (High Fidelity PJ-1234 deep groove). The record is in Ex+ condition with perhaps just one or two extremely faint and wispy marks. Complete with original company inner. The sleeve is in Ex condition with some minor wear to the front.

GEORGE WALLINGTON QUINTET - THE NEW YORK SCENE - Extremely rare original UK Esquire release featuring George Wallington, who found his fortune as a young man playing alongside Dizzy Gillespie and Oscar Pettiford on 52nd Street... The LP (32-132) is in Ex condition with a few light surface marks. These are by no means of a heavier nature, and this is a clean example. PRLP 8207 A +B matrix with 'RVG' in the outer on both sides. The front laminated flipback sleeve is in Ex condition with a little wear to the laminate.

Bold, Swinging Big Band Ideas (2607951). Finishing off this ace selection with 4 Verve releases in Mr. Roberts Plays Guitar (amazing playing from a very young Howard Roberts, MGV-8192, original yellow label), Gil Melle - Tom VI (V6-8744), Metronome All Stars 1956 (Clef MGV-8030) and Bobby Scott Plays Leonard Bernstein (MGV-8326). Condition is generally VG+ to Ex+.
THE MICHAEL GARRICK SEXTET - THE HEART IS A LOTUS - A superb original UK release of this incredible work from The Michael Garrick Sextet with Norma Winstone, also featuring Don Rendell and Ian Carr. Released on Argo in 1970 (ZDA 135). The record is in stunning Ex+ or archival condition with barely any markings to the playing surface. The labels are crisp and sharp. The sleeve is in strict Ex condition with a little staining on the reverse - this barely detracts from the extremely clean nature of it.
LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE BLUES VOLUME ONE - BLUE HORIZON -The electrifying, superb and insanely rare 2nd Blue Horizon release (VER LP/124). With offerings from Floyd Jones, The Howlin' Wolf, Eddie Hope and West Texas Slim this really is the king of all compilations! The record is in outlandish Ex+ condition - barely looking played there are very few markings to the playing surface indeed. The labels are bright, sharp and crisp. MATRIX: VER LP 124 and 125. The sleeve is in VG+ condition with a couple of light creases and some minor ringwear.

Of Irish interest, a rare early 19th century pearlware plate: with feather edged rim, the centre with transfer printed vignette depicting a woman playing a harp and wearing a crucifix, a banner behind inscribed 'Erin Ma Vournin!' [My Beloved Ireland], further inscribed above and below 'To the battle men of Erin, To the front of battle go, Every breast a shamrock wearing, Burns to meet his country's foe', 18 cm [hair crack to rim].
A Victorian rosewood games compendium: of rectangular outline bordered with ebony, the hinged lid and fold front enclosing lift out trays and shelves containing a Staunton pattern boxwood and ebonised chess set, draughts, dominoes, cribbage board and assorted playing cards together with a boxwood tumbler and assorted dice, bears registration kite for 29th November 1869 33 cm wide.

A Meiji period Japanese ivory netsuke, modelled as a pair of puppies playing on a coolie hat, one in white with black eyes, the other stained black with black eyes, the underside with carved chin straps, reputedly from the Bluth Collection, 2.3 cm high x 5 cmA hairline crack is running from the side of the white puppy's head, through the eyes and down to its tail. Additional smaller cracks are present on its back, paw and leg.The darker puppy also has two cracks running down its back and one through its thigh.One crack is visible on the underside of the netsuke.Light scuffs and scratches and visible on the main structure.Areas of yellow residue are present on the underside.
