DR Z. - THREE PARTS TO MY SOUL... (ORIGINAL UK COPY WITH PRESS RELEASE - VERTIGO SWIRL 6360 048). Holy grail time for Vertigo Swirl and Prog collectors worldwide with this superb example original UK copy of the celebrated only 1971 from Dr. Z - Three Parts To My Soul "Spiritus, Manes Et Umbra" which comes housed with the extremely scarce original press release. The record is in absolutely fantastic Ex+ condition showing only a couple of extremely faint, slight and wispy paper marks to the incredibly clean playing surfaces. With super sharp and clean labels (showing the original plastic around the spindle hole, this copy has clearly been played sparingly). Matrix/runout (machine stamped): 6360048 1Y//1 1 1 3 & 6360048 2Y//1 1 1 1. Housed with clean original British Patent No. 800153 & 973939 swirl inner. The elaborate die-cut sleeve is in sharp VG+ condition - a very clean example showing some minor edgewear and some light staining (possibly water) to the 'non picture' side (see photos), this is only visible when the sleeve is 'opened'. Without any damage to the die-cut design. The fragile original press release is in excellent condition.

THE ROLLING STONES - THE ROLLING STONES LP (FIRST UK 1A/1A '2.52 TELL ME' PRESSING - DECCA LK 4605). A must have for any serious Stones collector, here's the very first UK pressing of the band's landmark April 1964 LP. This original copy contains the shorter '2.52' version of Tell Me with the matrix: XARL-6271-1A XARL-6272-1A. The record is in very well presented VG+ condition. There are some light surface marks to the glossy playing surfaces, though these are never at all heavier and this copy is without any feelable scratches. Neat and clean deep grooved labels (no WOL) with some spindle marks. The original front laminated flipback sleeve is in clean VG+ condition with a few creases and some minor wear along the bottom reverse flipback tab - without any rips, tears or seam splits and with the spine fully legible.

The records are single sided and pressed over 2 x LPs. The records are both in superlative Ex+ condition showing only a couple of extremely faint, slight and wispy marks. Machine stamped matrix ST2 2955 A6 & B6 with LPFB 2 machine stamped on both non playing sides. The original 'generic' paper sleeves are date stamped '12 AUG 1968' and '14 AUG 1968'.

The sleeve is in VG condition with some tearing on the spine which has been repaired. There is also visible edgewear and minor peeling to the laminate.

An original US stereo pressing of heavy psych group Poobah's debut album 'Let Me In' (PP 1015, 1972 US stereo pressing from Peppermint Productions). The record is in beautiful Ex condition with only a few faint hairlines and paper marks visible on the playing surfaces. The centre label displays faint spindle marks but is crisp and clean. The sleeve is in VG condition with some age-related fading/discolouration to the artwork. The front of the sleeve has been signed by Jim Gustafson, the lead guitarist/organist/vocalist of the band.

The gatefold sleeve is in VG+ with some edgewear/creasing. The seam has started to split at the bottom of the cover. The obi strip is still fully intact.

The record is in strong, glossy VG+ condition with some non-feelable hairlines on the playing surfaces. The pink centre label is bright and clean. The gatefold sleeve is in VG+ condition with some visible edge/ring wear. The inside of the gatefold has previously stuck together resulting in some tearing, fortunately, as the damaged area is black it isn't particularly noticeable when the gatefold is opened.

THE SLEEPY - LOVE'S IMMORTAL FIRE 7" (ORIGINAL UK STOCK COPY - CBS 3592). Massive Pop/Psych winner from The Sleepy with their 1968 beauty Love's Immortal Fire c/w Is It Really The Same. Please take note of the grading provided. The A side is in VG condition with a number of surface marks/scuffs and a few feelable scratches, playing without any skips or jumps, with some minor surface noise throughout. The B side is in VG condition. Visually the record would grade as G+. Similarly with a number of surface marks/scuffs and some light feelable scratches, playing without any skips or jumps and with low lying surface noise. A solid playing copy of this classic slice of Psych.

The record (original serrated rim Parlophone white/red 'A' demo labels, with 'McArtney' misspelling both sides) is presented in glossy VG+ condition with some scuffs and hairlines on the playing surfaces, none of which are feelable. Sharp and clean condition labels, the four prong centre fully intact. Matrix/mother stampers (machine stamped) : 7XCE 17144-1N ZT (9 o clock) J R (3 o clock) & 7XCE 17145-1N ZT (9 o clock) J R (3 o clock). Housed with a VG condition original 'Urgent Special Rush Copy' promotional company sleeve.

A heavily modified guitar with what appears to be an original 1961 Fender Stratocaster body, serial to backplate 59447, featuring a c 1980s Ibanez neck, a Kohler bridge. Many parts of the guitar have been modified and it is not known which original features (if any) from a 1961 Strat remain. Prospective bidders are encouraged to view the guitar in person.This guitar was owned and played by Alan Ross who fronted 'Ross'; an RSO act of the c 1970s, as well as performing on The Who's 'Tommy' and performing with/alongside Eric Clapton, John Entwistle, Tina Turner, George Michael, Kylie Minogue and many more in a long and distinguished career.Ross was gifted the guitar by Clapton during the 1974 Ocean Boulevard Tour - possibly as a gift on his 21st birthday. It is not known at what point the modifications were made to the guitar.From the New York Times, July 7, 1974, page 16"Another English guitarist/ composer/vocalist, a 21‐year‐old lad named Alan Ross and his band —called Ross — will provide the opening act for shy, self‐effacing, comely, 29‐year‐old Clapton. Some rock scene propagandists have already, begun to spread the word that Ross is an imminent superstar; some call him “the next Clapton.”Showing many cosmetic marks to body. Playing state unknown, viewing advised. Not currently inspected internally.

An original paper presentation with wax seal pennant, presented by 'Fabulous 208' magazine to 'The Pink Floyd' in recognition of their 'being new, original and for playing a new form of pop', May 6th 1967. Measures 25 x 34cm, with heavy foxing, age wear, pennant very loosely affixed.Provenance: from the collection of Peter Jenner.

An original 1st US copy of Bob Dylan - Bob Dylan (CL 1779, six-eye, CLP1779, XLP 55619-1E P to side one runout, VG/VG+ with light scuffs across playing sides, clean original inner, Ex sleeve). The reverse of sleeve is signed clearly in blue ink by Bob Dylan who has also inscribed "Me" - next to his printed name on the sleeve. Also included is the original Scheaffer's fountain pen, owned by the vendor since the period and which was used to sign the sleeve. Provenance: the vendor worked on the RMS Queen Mary transatlantic route in the 1960s between Southampton and New York, and when in NYC was a frequent attendee at folk clubs in Greenwich Village. In September 1961 he attended a performance by Bob Dylan at 'Gerdes Folk City', making a recording (see lot 471 here) and taking several photographs. He had the photographs developed the following day and returned the following night, whereupon he asked Dylan to sign them. In 1962 on another visit he asked Dylan to sign a copy of his debut album (this lot). He also obtained handwritten directions/instructions from Dylan (on the back of an original ticket for this performance at 'Gerde's) on how to visit Woody Guthrie, who was in hospital at the time (see lot 470 here), this note featured in the book 'My Name Is New York' (Powerhouse Books, NYC).

The record is in stunning Ex+ condition. Comes in plain white paper sleeve). Also includes single-sided acetate of One Of Those Days In England (EMI Studios acetate. Lacquer playing surface is superb Ex+).

THE PRETTY THINGS - TURN MY HEAD 7" (ORIGINAL UK ADVISION ACETATE RECORDING). Fascinating original UK single sided 7" acetate from the mighty Pretty Things with Turn My Head - a song that was recorded in circa 1967 for the band's 'BBC Sessions' though not originally commercially released until 2003. The acetate is in G+ condition showing some surface marks and with the playing surface somewhat faded, though without any real deterioration to the lacuqer. With printed 'Advision Ltd' label with Bond St. London address, the artist and title printed and '1st Reel' handwritten to the label.

T. REX - I LOVE TO BOOGIE 7" (ORIGINAL UK ABBEY ROAD ACETATE RECORDING). Fantastic to see original 1976 UK 7" (single sided) acetate recording from T. Rex with I Love To Boogie. The acetate is in VG condition with some light surface marks and with some minor fading to the playing surface, though without any heavier feelable scratches. The printed label (with handwritten artist/title/track length as '2. 16') is in clean order.

The record (machine stamped matrix YMARC 6 A-1 with LPFB machine stamped on the non-playing side, with original serrated rim) is in sharp Ex condition showing only a couple of very light and minor paper surface hairline marks. White labels with handwritten title information (erroneously stating 'B. Sitting Here' - as stated this recording is single sided).

TYRANNOSAURUS REX - PEWTER SUITOR 7" (ORIGINAL UK DEMO - REGAL ZONOPHONE RZ 3016). Fantastic condition original 1969 UK 7" demo from Tyrannosaurus Rex with Pewter Suitor c/w Warlord Of The Royal Crocodiles. The record (Regal Zonophone RZ 3016, original serrated rim) is in wicked Ex+ condition showing only a couple of extremely minor, faint and wispy marks to the playing surfaces. With lovely sharp and clean labels, the four prong centre fully intact and housed with clean original company sleeve.

MARC BOLAN - HARD ON LOVE LP - ORIGINAL UK IBC STUDIOS ACETATE RECORDING. Stupefying piece of Marc Bolan history with the original IBC Sound Recording Studios (double sided) acetate LP recording of the album that would later be released in 1974 as 'The Beginning Of Doves' (Bolan placed an injunction on the album to not be released in 1972). The acetate (with printed IBC Sound Recording Studios labels) is in lovely Ex condition. Showing only a couple of very light and minor surface marks to the very clean playing surfaces, none of these are ever heavier in nature without any feelable scratches to note and without any deterioration to the lacquer. The original picture cover (which was also withdrawn) is in neat VG+ condition with a few light and minor creases though no rips or tears and with the spine fully legible.
