A Chinese carved wood and hardstone chess compendium, People's Republic, comprising a set of celadon and spinach coloured cast hardstone chess pieces, within a folding carved teak chessboard carrying case, worked with dragons and phoenixes, the resin playing surface with incised and painted scenes to the white squares, 48cm square open.
