A late 19th to early 20th Century folding mahogany Bezique card playing table by W. Thornhill & Co, the folding X-shaped frame in the style of a coaching or campaign table, with green baize lining and ivory inlaid cribbage boards and flip-over counters, inset with brass makers plaque to the reverse with registration number 52608, height 71.5cm and 68cm square, S/D. NB - 2018 Ivory Act application submission reference FJ7EU47N Subject to CITES regulations and due to ivory content, this lot will require a re-export permit if shipped outside the mainland UK.
An early 20th Century Dresden type figure modelled as a seated lady playing a guitar with sheet music to her side, underglaze blue cypher mark, height 27cm, together with a pair of late 19th to early 20th Century continental figures of a lady and gentleman in Tudor dress, both with spurious Volkstedt Rudolstadt marks, tallest 29.5cm, all restored. ALBERT WAINWRIGHT (1898-1943) - A sketch depicting a nude male figure picked out in colour wash, with further studies of the male form surrounding, to the reverse floral motifs, ink and wash, unframed, 18cm x 23cm, also another sketch page with figurative studies including girls playing badminton. A 20th Century spelter study of Cupid with gilt details, raised to a square marble base, height 23cm, together with another spelter figure modelled as a seated child with a puppy, a painted plaster candle holder modelled as a putti carrying grapes and another painted plaster figure of a seated putti playing the flute. A 20th Century Art Deco Silvered Plaque after Marcel Bouraine, depicting a female nude sat opposite the character of Pan playing the pipes, framed against an ebonised wood surround within a light wood frame, 36cm x 60.5cm (excluding frame). NB - This plaque is based on one by Bouraine which he exhibited at the 1925 Exposition des Arts Decoratif in Paris. Arnold Muhren signed Manchester United 12x8 colour photo. Arnold Johannes Hyacinthus Muhren (born 2 June 1951 in Volendam, North Holland) is a Dutch football manager and former midfielder. His older brother Gerrie, also a midfield player, won three European Cup titles with Ajax in the early 1970s. Muhren is among the few players to have won all three major UEFA-organised club competitions, the European Cup (1972-73), the Cup Winners' Cup (1986-87) and the UEFA Cup (1980-81). The last of these was won with Ipswich Town, while the other titles were won while playing for Ajax. He is also one of the two Dutch players, together with Danny Blind, to have won all UEFA club competitions. Good condition. All autographs come with a Certificate of Authenticity. A Chinese porcelain Wucai Gu Transitional style vase, the flared sleeve shaped vase decorated to the exterior in a Wucai palette with two bands depicting boys playing in a garden, interspersed by a central band of floral sprigs, recessed based with double concentric circles and brown dressed foot rim, 19.5cm high, with associated carved wood base (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The piece shows repairs and hairline cracks to the rim, extending down approximately 5cm. The body shows the odd firing pit and frit. The piece sits well on the stand but is unlikely to be original to it.
