1956 CUP FINAL MENU Menu for the Official Manchester City Cup Final Banquet held at The Café Royal post match 5/5/56, signed to the reverse by Bert Trautmann who was the hero of the game as he continued playing with a broken neck to help City to a 3-1 victory over Birmingham. Other signatures are Bill Leivers and Les McDowell. Sky blue cord is attached to the spine.

A Swiss Nicole Frere inlaid rosewood musical box 19th century, stamped no. 40215 to movement plate and with corresponding no. to label inside lid, playing eight airs, 13in. steel comb and drum movement, lever wind, the rosewood and faux-rosewood case inlaid with a floral cartouche to the lid, 20.75in. (52.5cm.) wide.
A Swiss faux-rosewood cased musical box 19th century, playing eight airs, with a crank wind 11in. barrel and 10.75in. steel comb, the movement mount numbered 2317 with corresponding number to the tune label inside lid, 19.75in. (50cm.) wide x 9in. (23cm.) deep, some surface rust tarnishing to comb.

An unusual Swiss inlaid rosewood and ebonised musical box 19th century, stamped no. 95929, playing six airs with lever operated selector, 7.5in. steel comb and 8.5in. plated cylinder, key wind, with lyre shaped damping mechanism, the rosewood and kingwood crossbanded case with ebonised moulded edges, inlaid with a musical instrument cartouche to the lid, the front panel with similar transfer decoration, 23in. (58.5cm.) wide.
An inlaid mahogany dasapada chess or draughts table probably Dutch, circa 1800, the rectangular fold over top with three boxwood and ebony strung panels, the central panel with an inlaid fruitwood and mahogany ten by ten square gaming board, opening to reveal a baize playing surface and swivelling to reveal a storage compartment, on turned tapering supports with peg feet, 30.75 x 15.25in (78 x 38.5cm). * The ten by ten square gaming board was termed a `Dasapada` in Sanskrit and is known to have been used for an enlarged game of chess called `at-tamma` in the Muslim world, with two camels added to the pieces on each side. It was also used for the game of draughts in the Netherlands and France from the 17th century onwards, until wider use as the International Draughts board in the 20th century.
