[GOEBBELS JOSEPH]: (1897-1945)German Politician, Reich Minister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany 1933-45. A Typed Letter, with the facsimile signature J. Goebbels beneath the text, one page, 4to, Berlin, 27th September 1934, in German. Goebbels states, in full, 'I herewith invite you to the opening ceremony of Winter Relief Work 1934/45 on Sunday, 9th October, at 12 midday, in the Kroll Opera Theatre - the Reichstag's Chamber. Speeches will be given by: The Fuhrer and The Reichsminister Dr. Goebbels. A reply in regard to the enclosed ticket is requested by 4th October at latest. Heil Hitler.' With two portions of page missing to the left edge, minor annotations in pencil and red indelible pencil, not affecting the text or signature, with light age wear. Together with two identical official letterheads, unused, oblong 8vo, each headed 'Der Reichsminister fur Volksaufklarung und Propaganda', three photographs, unsigned, and apparently unpublished, 3½ x 4 and two smaller, comprising a nude image of Helmut Goebbels playing in a garden, Joseph Goebbels playing with one of his children, and Magda Goebbels seated outdoors reading to her son, Harold Quandt. Also including an A.L.S., Gerd Gobbels, one page, 4to, n.p. (unreadable), 2nd July 1942, to Professor Messerschmitt, in German. Gobbels informs his correspondent, in part, 'I venture, as a schoolboy of 14, to send you my heartiest congratulations on the outstanding achievements and successes of your aircraft...' further adding that he himself is, 'giving all kinds of things to about twenty real soldiers… some of them are prisoners of the enemy… For this reason I am making you a very sincere and humble request… I am asking if you would be good enough to sign for me the enclosed photograph.'
