A Swiss “bells in sight” marquetry decorated musical box, late 19th century, the gilt painted iron-bed framed mechanism playing a choice of eight airs via a 13 inch pinned cylinder on a tuned steel comb and a line of six bells, set beneath an internal hinged glass cover flanked by crank winder, GOING/STOPPING and CHANGE/REPEAT selection levers, the case with tune list pinned to interior of lid, the exterior decorated with musical trophy marquetry panel within line borders to top above conforming line border inlay to front, (unrestored, some faults), 58cm (22.75ins) wide.
