Condition Report: Good condition overall. Some of the raised detail is a little rubbed. One very tiny dent to the rim of the base. The silver is rubbed through to the head of one figure.

A Fine 18th Century Dutch marquetry longcase clock, signed Jan Bernardus Vrijthoff With a 13", 33cm brass and silvered dial signed Jan Bernardus Vrijthoff Hagae with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture with a central alarm dial above a date register, cast spandrels emblematic of the four seasons with a lunar calendar in the arch with a moon phase above half roundels engraved with a sportsman and a figure smoking a pipe the two train eight day movement with anchor escapement striking the half hour and hours on two overhead bells the case with a caddy top surmounted with a gilt metal figure of Hercules supporting a globe blue with stars flanked by carved wood figures the shaped trunk with a moulded border inlaid with a vase of blooms of leaves and a bird above glass lenticle enclosed by a figure seated on a cow within a shell leaf and mask border above a classical urn with flowers and leaves, the shaped canted plinth inlaid with a bird perched upon a vase flower and leaf strewn ground raised upon a shaped plinth and bun feet. 259cms. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2075: A Dutch clock, a heading case the bell shape top fret-work carving in good condition. Central figure of Hercules good condition. Left and right figures good condition, minor to the edge of the trumpet to the winged angel, small repair to left arm of the opposing angel attached to the trumpet. Frieze below Hercules blind fret-work good condition. Marquetry inlay to dial door good condition. Some oxidization to the metal at the top and bottom of each column. Fine fret-work side panels in good condition. Oxidisation to the metal of the inset columns at the back on each side. Trunk, marquetry in good condition, long door marquetry in good condition canted angles and sides marquetry in good condition, the plinth base the central panel a shrinkage crack running left to right approximately 32cm, which is near the bottom of the plinth approximately 27cm down from the top of the panel. Side panels good condition, plinth good condition. Circular bun feet old can not guarantee if they are original back bracket feet. The movement good condition large and small saucer bell with two hammers, not been running. With pendulum and door key presently weights are missing.
