Three hallmarked silver caddy spoons, a Joseph Wilmore, George III, Birmingham 1822 example, a James Dudley, London 1896 example and a larger example with repousse scenic decoration with windmills and decorative bird of prey handle, various hallmarks, approx combined 2.1ozt (3). CONDITION REPORT Clear hallmarks, age-related wear, no obvious signs of restoration. Bowl to the larger one slightly misshapen.

A George III silver salt with blue glass liner, Robert Hennell I, London 1773, with beaded rim and pierced body on four claw and ball feet, five Georgian silver mustard spoons, a 19th century silver caddy spoon by George Adams, London and a Dutch silver caddy spoon, 19th century, the bowl in the form of a leaf with scrolling handle and head finial (8). CONDITION REPORT: There has been a repair beneath the cartouche in which three of the small arches beneath the cartouche have been filled. There is a small 4 mm split to the rim. There are four repairs showing on the interior of the rim. There is loose solder showing on the interior of the body to the left of the cartouche. The blue glass liner has small nibbles on the rim.

Lot 1184

A George III inlaid mahogany tea caddy, with burr wood panels and crossbanded edge. Width 23 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The tea caddy is in generally very good condition. The colour is good. There are some minor scratches to the surface but no serious condition issues. The hinges are original. The lock and plate are present but we do not have a key. There are one or two small sections of crossbanding that look to have been replaced over the years but the colour match and polish are generally good.

Lot 1474

A mid 18th century oak and walnut crossbanded longcase clock by James Gandy Cockermouth circa 1750, with caddy top and turned side pillars. With long trunk door with double arched top, the base being raised on small bracket feet. The movement is eight day and hour striking. Dial 11¾" square with silvered chapter ring and with seconds and date dials. Height 214 cm. NOTE: James Gandy was one of the best known makers in the Cockermouth region. He was famous for making several musical and astronomical clocks. He was born circa 1700 and died in Cockermouth in 1779.
