Silver table flatware, comprising; a set of six coffee spoons, Sheffield 1957, cased, a set of six pastry forks, Sheffield 1924, cased, a pair of sugar nips, of wishbone form, a pair of fiddle pattern sugar tongs, a tea caddy spoon, probably London 1791, a preserve spoon, with a loaded handle, seven similar teaspoons, having engraved decoration and a quantity of further flatware, mostly silver and sundry, combined weight of weighable silver 432 gms.
Silver, comprising; a George III caddy spoon, with bright cut engraved decoration and with an anchor motif, (probably in commemoration of The Battle of Trafalgar), by Joseph Taylor, Birmingham 1805, two pairs of sugar tongs, a Victorian Christening spoon and fork, Birmingham 1874, six coffee spoons with differing enamelled decoration and three further spoons, (14).
An oak and walnut longcase clock containing late 18th Century movement by Hayler of Chatham, the 12ins arched silvered dial with Roman numerals and with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar dial to centre and with strike/silent dial to arch, to the eight day two train five pillar movement striking on a bell, contained in modern oak case, swept caddy top with fretted centre panel, turned, fluted and brass stopped pillars, the arched trunk door veneered in figured walnut and flanked by quartered, fluted and brass stopped quarter columns and the base with raised astragal mouldings, inset with figured walnut veneer panel and moulded double plinth base, 91ins high (glass to door cracked - side moulding off but present) Note: William Hayler recorded working Chatham circa 1765-1851. In view of long working dates possibly two men of the same name, maybe father and son.
