Beautiful lidded jar depicting Winter scenes in Japan with a border surrounding each illustration and lid and neck features a multicolored scrolls and pattern design. Vessel is designed in a Satsuma style with colorful and intricate patterns. Vase measures: 4.5"W x 10"H. Tea caddy measures: 5.25"L x 5"W x 6.5"H. Condition: Age related wear.
A George III Provincial silver tea caddy, William Welch II, Exeter 1808, of oval bombe form, the hinged cover with ebony knop opening to a twin-compartment interior, (later) chased with scrolls, flowers and foliage in the Rococo taste and engraved with a monogram. Height 12.5cm, 9.6 troy ounces.
