A wooden caddy with hinged lid, one fixed and one removable inner compartment, each with separate lid; lacquer finish to the inner compartments, underside of the lid; inner lids with inlaid stylised design, outer surfaces with angular marquetry panels, lock with escutcheon to front face. 674 grams, 23 x 12.5 x 15.5cm (9 x 5 x 6"). Property of an Essex collector; acquired 1960-1990. [No Reserve]

(33 x 25.5cm.), 13in. (33cm.) high.

WILLIAM BARKER, WIGAN; a late 18th century oak longcase clock, with brass square face and silvered circular dial set with Roman numerals to the chapter ring, with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, the flat hood with caddy pediment and four turned columns above arched doors flanked by two quarter columns on plinth base with bracket feet, height 217cm. Maker is listed as active c.1760.
A George III oak longcase clock, the caddy top above 12" square brass dial set with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds hand and date, inscribed "J. Whitworth Lussley", within a detailed engraved central plate with exotic birds and a vessel at sea housing an eight day movement above long arched door, quarter moulded pilasters and stepped plinth, height approx 206cm. James Whitworth is listed as operating in Lussley c.1775. CONDITION REPORT: In original untouched condition. Has not been messed around with. Lower plinth and a later addition but basically good order but in need of some T.L.C.. Does stand slightly off-centre.
A late George III mahogany and inlaid tea caddy with decorated edges and centred with a running stag within oval border, with Moroccan leather lined hinged lid enclosing two section interior and lids with turned ivory knops, 13 x 23 x 13.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Loss to the inlay on the edge of the lid corner, there are some dints and one scratch to the front, one 4cm scratch to the back, wear to the base, leather is a bit damaged where it meets with the handles and the containers are missing their initial lining.

CONDITION REPORT: Areas of cracks and splits to the veneer particularly to the top.
