A Meissen part tea service with puce and gilt floral spray decoration on a ribbed body comprising teapot, tea caddy, four saucers, one cup, bearing blue crossed swords and asterisk mark to base CONDITION REPORTS One saucer has several large chips. Two saucers have been restored to the rims and re-sprayed as has the cup handle. The teapot lid has several large chips. The teapot has a firing fault on the inside rim. All items have general wear and tear to include surface scratches, wear to the gilding and paintwork with some discolouration and some slight roughness to the edges. See images for further details
A 19th Century fan marquetry inlaid mahogany tea caddy (interior missing), an oak cased games compendium, a 20th Century oak book trough and a walnut cased canteen of cutlery bearing plaque to top inscribed "Presented to HFR Nichols Esq. on completion of 35 years with Hughlings, Hollings & Son - 1920-1955"
A George III silver tea caddy of bellied oval form with later embossed floral decoration, bearing initialled cartouche to centre, the lid opening to reveal a divider to the centre (bears maker's mark CF in rectangular punch, London, 1804) CONDITION REPORTS A hole in the body where the catch goes and resulting split. Various dents and dings throughout, various light scratches, base very much out of oval. Around the back of the tea caddy, there appears to be a large oval shaped repair. Approx 10 cm wide x 5 cm tall. Visible from the inside as well as the outside, unknown as to the cause, will attempt to photograph this. There are splits to the metal around the hinge area to the back, all over general signs of considerable wear and tear. A Chinese Famille Verte ginger jar decorated with figures in a landscape, height 15cm, three Chinese crackle glazed vessels, the tallest of baluster form, decorated with battle scenes, square mark to base, a lobed bowl, height 35cm, a squat lobed bowl with Eastern type decoration and a square shaped white tea caddy (6). CONDITION REPORT: The lid of the ginger has been broken and restored. Crackle glaze vase decorated with a bird has been extensively broken and crudely repaired. Lobed bowl has crazing throughout. Blue and white caddy has a nibble to the top rim.
A 19th century Chinese porcelain tea caddy of rectangular form with canted corners, painted in underglaze blue with floral and foliate sprays, with cafe au lait upper edge, unmarked, height 11cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: Some nibbles/chips/firing imperfections to the raised parts and edges, some restored, a major hairline spreading from the rim of the neck and a large area of firing imperfections.
