An 18th century Chinese export 'Tobacco Leaf' pattern part tea and coffee service, circa 1770 Qianlong period (1736-1795) Qing dynasty, painted in underglaze blue and gilt highlighted polychrome enamels with large overlapping leaves, hibiscus flowers and other scattered floral designs, service includes a baluster form coffee pot and cover, 23.5 cm high, a helmet shaped milk/cream jug on domed foot, 13.5 cm high, a rectangular tea caddy, 12 cm high, sugar bowl, 8 cm high, six floriform saucers (3 x 14 cm and 3 x 12 cm) eight tea bowls (2 x 9 cm dia and 6 x 7.5 cm dia) and three twin-handles tea cups, 7 cm high coffee pot handle damaged/repaired in three places including a stapled repair, small spout chip and cover with small chips, the cream jug has one large approx. 2 cm rim chip and several smaller chips, the domed foot has an arched hairline, footrim chips, hairline and firing crack to the base, the tea caddy has a large section missing from neck, sugar bowl missing both handles and cover, all other bowl with chips and/or hairline cracks, twin-handled cups all with small chips/frits, two also have short hairlines to rim interiors, the smaller saucers with small chips, one with larger 2 cm rim section missing, the large saucers also with small chips, one with large hairline crack through the base, all items with areas of wear to gilding and enamels

AN IONA SILVER CADDY SPOON the design by Alexander Ritchie, the petal shaped terminal with floral decoration, the circular shaped spoon with celtic knotwork detail, by Highland Home Industries, Edinburgh 1940-41, stamped IONA to reverse, 10cm, 39gms Note: Highland Home Industries was a business whose small crafts shop was based on Iona and was run by Hannah MacCormick. Ritchie passed many of his original designs on to the MacCormicks. Condition Report:The bowl is slightly tarnished.
